I am starting a rat group (technically called a mischief), called 'Retrovertigo', and anyone is free to join.
The idea came from and her psychoraptor clan, and works similarly. Credit to her for the inspiration.

There will be 20 slots. If these prove somewhat successful, I may open more one day.
All you have to do is comment here to reserve which slot you'd like (ie, runner 1). Once this is done, you will have 10 days to submit a picture of your rat character. If you do not do so within these 10 days, and do not contact me to beg forgiveness, the slot will go to someone else.
You are free to choose whether your rat is a buck or a doe, or whether it is dumbo or top eared.

About colouring
Your rat may have any colouration or marking you choose. You are also free to turn an existing character/fursona into a rat, if you fancy. There are no restrictions. You may add piercings, collars, jewelry, whatever you like.


About ranks
The lower your rat is on the list, the lower its rank. I am alpha female, Kyuss is alpha male. All other slots are available for you guys. One slot per person.
Rats near the bottom of the heirarchy are either youngsters/kittens, or submissive/elderly adults.

What each rank means
Beta rat - the beta rat is second in command to the alpha(s). They actually do most of the work, and take care of everything that is too menial for the alphas to bother with. They are second in importance only to the alphas, and if anything happens to the alphas, they will be next in line to take their place.

Soldiers - these rats are the front line if the colony comes under attack. They are usually large, and are the best fighters in the group.

Food checker - this rat has the job of trying all new foods brought into the group to check they are safe. A somewhat risky position, but someone has to do it!

Gatherer - The rats with the best noses for good foods and nesting materials! They are used to find the best of the best, and bring it back for the colony.

Scout - The scouts will be sent out if trouble is suspected, or something is happening. It is their job to let the higher ranking rats know if anything is afoot.

Runner - Similar job to the scouts, and sometimes they will go along with them, but runners are exceptionally fast rats who are used to get messages or information back to the colony quickly.

baby sitter - These are rats, either bucks or does, that take care of any babies within the group. They are usually rats of docile, gentle nature.

Omega - the lowest ranking rats. These rats feed last, tend to get the brunt of the group's frustrations, and act as peacemakers at times of stress. Unfortunately, they tend to get wounded, told off, and treated with contempt a lot of the time. However, despite this, omega rats know that without a group around them, they will not survive, so although it seems harsh to us, they actually appreciate their lot in life.
