History: Sic was created in the same laboratory as Calx, and is a more advanced, visually realistic version of it. She was designed primarily as a guard dog. While formidable, and certainly able to kill a human without trouble, she is much more independent in her thought processes than Calx (who is essentially a machine programmed to kill, with no ability to think independently of its programming)
Sic, however, is able to make her own decisions and use her own initiative. As such, she has a tendency to wander and not be completely focused on her job.
Appearance: Sic is pale pink with white accents. The white appears in the following places: Her hair, the toes on her right front paw, the two dots above her eyes and the two heart markings on her chest.
She is larger than an average female dobe, and slightly more heavily built. Her front paws are large and have steel reinforced claws. Her teeth are also five times harder than usual canine teeth.
Her ears were cropped to make her more streamlined and to make her appear more formidable, but her tail was left intact to aid balance and movement.
She wears a pink diamante collar, but this is interchangeable and can be replaced with any kind of pink collar (e.g., studs, plain, flower motifs) The tag on her collar is always pink with a silver star.
She has three rings and a scaffolding/industrial bar in her right ear, and 4 rings in her left.
She wears several bracelets which are also of no set appearance. As long as they are primarily pink and feminine.
She usually wears a silver skull shaped hair clip in her fringe.
Her eyes are pale blue.
Personality: Sic is determined, strong-willed, intelligent and somewhat guarded when meeting new people. However, she is also playful, a little unorthodox/quirky, and very protective over the things or people she values. The fact that she is largely biological means that she is not generally welcomed by the likes of Calx, who sees her often as simply something to attack. But her lab-created features such as her intimidating size, strange eye colour and un-dog-like behaviours means she is often pushed aside by other animals too.
I created Sic to express my girly side, the side of me that likes to dress up and go to parties, the side of me that loves pink, but also the side of me that never truly feels like it fits in anywhere.
She is still a new character and Im constantly learning more about her and adding to her story and personality. As with all my refs, this will be updated as and when anything new is added to her.
I love this character! The way you drew her eyes here are so beautiful!
I really love when people make a character that represents themself. Some people's fursona's don't really seem to relate to them at all. I always thought that a fursona should be an animal that represents you in some way or fashion because from what I gather from the word it means "fur persona".
Thanks!
I agree. I like it best when someones fursona resembles them. Often, you see a character someone uses to represent themselves and then you see a photo of the person themself and they're NOTHING like their character, or else they've made their character an idealised version of themselves (fat people making their fursona skinny, as an example) There is nothing wrong with having a 'how I'd LIKE to be' character too, but I still think someone's main fursona should be very much themselves.
I try and make my fursonas resemble me as much as its possible with a cartoon animal. Im not skinny, so I don't make any of my fursona's skinny, for example. I feel it would be betraying myself a little. The joy of a fursona is living vicariously through them, but if they don't resemble you, that seems difficult.
Hey ho she's great, hope you dont mind a little constructive critisism, but i was just thinking the front legs look a little stiff, .. maybe you should try making them a little more shapely, they look a bit straight. Also .. the front leg with one bracelet on seems a bit too far forward, maybe see what happens if you move it back a bit, since the front of the body is tilted.
Yeah, the front legs are borked on this completely, particularly the paws! I re-drew them about 5 times and in the end just said 'fuck it, that'll do!'
You're absolutely right about the legs, though. If theres one area I need a lot of practise on, its the front legs of dog breeds like dobes, because they have really deep chests and it just seems to totally throw me when drawing them!
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant.
