Ref sheet for my psycho chef rat, Ramsay

Ramsay works as head chef of a diner in Chicago, situated under a fancy human restaurant. This allows his staff to acquire food and ingredients fairly easily by stealing them from the people, and raiding the bins in the alley beside the building.
Ramsay controls a staff of 6, all rats, and will not employ animals of any other species as he considers rats to have the best food knowledge of all the species that live in the city, and sees no reason to employ animals of lesser culinary talent.

Ramsay is a complete tyrant to work for and extremely aggressive. He will scream at his staff when they make mistakes or don't get food out quick enough, throw things at them, and verbally abuse them, often being quite personal in his insults.
In the past, he has caused staff to walk out, cry, and even pass out from shock and stress. He does not discriminate; both his male and female staff are subjected to his outbursts, though he once claimed that females couldn’t ‘cook to save their lives‘

He is virtually never referred to by name by any of his staff, particularly while working, and would find this to be grossly disrespectful. He is almost always referred to as ‘Chef Ramsay’ or just ‘Chef’.
He is a perfectionist and the tiniest thing can upset him. He will even occasionally act in such a manner to customers if he considers them to be in the wrong, though generally he is respectful of his customers and strives to make sure everything is perfect for them.

He uses an alarming number of expletives, the word 'fuck' being his particular favourite, and is viewed by most in the city as someone you wouldn't want to upset.

Ramsay is an ex laboratory rat, hence the wires in his head, and it is likely this which causes his volatile behaviour and irrational outburts. He is occasionally referred to as 'chef Head Wires' by his staff, but none of them would dare say it to his face.
Here is a lab rat with wires in his brain:

While some of his aggression can be put down to the effects of his past life as a lab animal, a lot of it can also be attributed to his former mentor; a psychotic rat called Whitey who makes Ramsay look like a push-over.
Ramsay was trained by Whitey, and was subjected to horrendous abuse himself during his training, so he has grown to ape his mentor, perhaps unwittingly.

Ramsay also suffered a fair bit of physical and mental abuse from his father, which he believes gave him the back-bone to put up with Whitey's abuse where others had crumbled under the pressure.

Despite his seemingly unnecessary aggression, he is a fantastic chef, suggesting his methods must work. He also has an amazingly loyal staff, and few ever choose to leave his employment.
Ramsay is quite capable of being civil, and outside of work he can be very charming, even fatherly to his staff. For some reason, many females seem to find him extremely sexy despite, or perhaps because of, his ferocious personality.
He isn't an evil rat at all, he is simply passionate about his job and won't let anyone jeopardize his reputation or that of his business.

Ramsay is a Wister laboratory rat, one of the first strains of lab rat ever to be bred.

Here's a question for you...What do you call a person without character, without integrity, without loyalty, without respect? I call that person a fucking waste of my time.

A Wistar rat! I had a Wistar rat character ages ago named Ugnak...

This character (unsurprisingly) makes me think of the over-referenced Phineas Gage story because GOOD LORD HAVE I HEARD IT SO MANY TIMES, but he's actually very refreshing and appealing.
o-o That rat with the wires is scaring me. It just is... wrong. Worse than seeing a person walking around with a cap like that. Reminds me of Snitter in Plague Dogs. Huh. Must get back to work on piccy 8( -edit- 8D -eye twitch- I HATE Ferns! I should just try leaf cover

Yeah, its horrible. That particular rat was a cocaine addict. He could press the lever and get it delivered straight to his brain.

Since the whole thing is set in the 1920s kinda era, I had to find out whether lab rats were around back then, and a lot came up about wistar rats and them being the first lab rats so it seems a good idea.

I had to look up this Phineas Gage fellow (never heard of him) quite remarkable!
